Tea Time Notes

Hello All,

I got a text the other day from a friend asking for a notepad....I got no brief at all on what she wanted so I sat thinking for ages...I know she is a bit of a tea jenny...like myself, so I decided on this fab "Krafting Kimmie" image. the last time I saw her she was wearing a lime green top...so that's why I chose this colour scheme.

My image has been coloured with copics. The fab papers are ones I bought in Canada "momenta - Family Ties" and the little flowers are from "Prima". The pink swirl has been created using some scrap paper and the "sissix - flourish & hearts" die.

I am quite pleased with the way it turned out considering when I started I did not know where I was going! ......now I just hope she likes it!!!!

Keeping It Simple

Hello All,

How are you all, hope you enjoyed a good weekend! Today I challenged myself to keep it simple..I love this gorgeous Leanne Ellis design....as yet she has not been inked up, shocking!!! Now I have had a play I am full of more ideas....

Anyway for this one, I have just coloured the image with my copic's..I have created a decoupage effect to give a little dimension, and I have added a little glitter. I now finally own a Martha Steward punch, I have used it here to give a fancy edge, and added a touch of ribbon.

Not my normal look, so I am not completely sure of the results.

Of course I just had to come home and play and ink some of my very gorgeous Nellie's!! I have had an idea in my head to do something like this for ages and ages....but it has just been the wrong time of year......the card and Embellies are all from "Kanban" and all the stamps have been coloured using copics....If I am honest I am not quite sure of the results.... but I thought I would share with you anyway.

Scrap Attack

Hello All,

I am still working away on my little bundle of scraplings and my bag of scraps...I feel like I have made loads, but you cant see any difference in the pile so far!!!

Most of these do not have a stamped image...SHOCK HORROR!!!......but you know the way it is, I still own stickers and toppers e.ct from the early days of the whole crafting thing....also I used to buy a lot of my stuff from qvc as we had no shops locally....I have gradually seen a change in that department..whoo hooo!!!!!!.......and there kits were huge and I still have loads of bits left over, that I don't really use now but still cant bring myself to throw away.......anyway this is what I have done so far!

Images: WOJ, and I think the paper is Bo Bunny......(also mostly make my own flowers now, but these are some prima flowers that are still lurking at the bottom of my craft drawer!!)

This card is made entirely from scrap paper...although I have no idea what it is...sorry!

This one using left over peel offs

I have used a selection of papers here...some "papermania" and some "bo bunny"....the chippies are left over from a kit from qvc....I still have more of them left! eeek!!!

I had 1/2 a sheet of these kanban toppers left to I managed to use them all up and get rid of something completely....whoo hoo!!! I have no idea what the papers are...sorry!

The papers and tags on these are from "K&Co - Mira collection"

again more papers from my scraps that I have no idea where they came from - possibly Kanban!
the toppers are from "Kanban - Lorali Paris"

Well that's it for the mo.......I will continue with my cleaning up my scraps mission, but it will probably take a Long time!!!

WOYWW

Hello All,

Well in advance I must apologise for a photo heavy post. I love it when you guys show a photo of your crafty space....it helps me to place you and where you create. I have always wanted to join in on WOYWW but I have never been around on Wednesdays :-( !!!!!!!

Today I am so I am excited about being able to join in...so firstly I will show you whats on my desk!
I was playing around with inks last night and creating backgrounds...not something I do too often ...I am needing more practice...in all honesty I am not quite sure where I am going with this one...guess I will find out.

I thought While I was here..I would give you a quick tour of my craft room...aka spare room and office! My husband created a more workable space and we have used kitchen units in the bedroom...which actually does not look too weird! He wanted to be able to close doors on all my craft stuff so that when we have visitors it is a more relaxing space...not jumbled with bits and tubs on display!.....cheek! he also knocked out a built in cupboard and created a small office for my work, which is great as it is out of sight when people come to stay......anyway this is my larder unit full of stuff:

All the boxes on the bottom shelf are full of stamps as are the Black and white folders....The black and white bag at the bottom I love..its actually empty, I bought it in TK Max, its a paper file....and when I go to a friends house to craft I can fit some DP's and Stamped images in it....and I can come round without looking like I am moving home!!

Then I have 3 pan drawers crammed full:
this one full of paper

the 2nd one with tools:
If you are wondering at the little tin foil pie cases, I saw a show on C&C where Sheena Douglas created UTEE using a little pie dish and a heat gun instead of a melting pot.....so I thought I would give that a go and save myself some money...

The 3rd draw is odds and ends:

I am not quite finished......I have another little cupboard:

Look at all that paper....I am so embarrassed!!! The blue bag is full of notebooks in various sizes ready to alter.

That's the main part but then I also have this:

Full of essentials

And these:

One is full of inks the other of stickers.

Yes after having my sort out, I am actually quite depressed as I have soooooooo much stuff!!! I am trying to be good, I desperately need to put a hole in this stash!!!!

Thanks for looking, I hope I haven't bored you silly!

P.S....dont forget to check out Julia's blog...and see all those lovely workspaces!

Under My Umbrella

Hello All,

I am a little nervous about sharing this card.....I love so many styles of crafting that I don't really know if I have found my niche.....I have to say I do love the whole Tim Holtz, grunge altered art thing but I have never really given myself much time to just play, however I have recently found a few challenge blogs that are concentrating on this style so I thought it was a good chance to push myself out of my comfort zone.....so this was me attempting to be a little more experimental although I am not sure if I have executed it very well.

Firstly the image is form "Do Crafts" which I have stamped with "Distress ink - Walnut stain"...I blended the background, splashed water, and then repainted in the image using the ink.....again the fabulous papers are "g.h.d studios - Paris nights" and they have all been inked up with antique linen.

The swirl I have created using corrugated card...a first for me I have never used it on a card before. I used "sizzix - flourish and hearts" and then rubbed in some "distress stickels - worn lipstick".

I have to comment on the Fabulous Crochet flower. I was so fortunate to win the February elements kit from the fabulous Design Dollies.....I got a gorgeous mixed bag of embellies and some fabulous stamps...I do feel incredibly embarrassed as I have not used them yet. My gorgeous parcel arrived just before I went to Canada.....since I came back I have been doing my mass production of wedding cards, and I have had other things going on in life........so I am delighted to finally be able to getting to play with these gorgeous goodies!!! and so Thank you girls - and I am so sorry for the delay!!

Pink Chandelier

Hello All,

Its been a mad hectic crazy week with loads going on so I am sorry If I have not been around much, I will do my best to catch up.

I realise this is not the most exciting card, but I thought I would share it with you as I am quite proud of this one.....why?

Well I was watching craft on the TV last week and saw this most gorgeous kit that I really really wanted it, It was a gorgeous pink and black set, so elegant some of the papers had chandeliers, some crowns, and I just loved it!! However as I have just organised my crafting space and reminded myself of just how much stuff I had, at the mo I just feel to guilty to buy more ( I know this will not last long) and so I resisted.......this is the first reason for being pleased with myself.

The second is I have managed to create a similar look using the "My Craft Studio" programme. I have a couple of thier cd's but I do not use it as much as I should I normally just use it for resizing digi stamps. I have taken an image from the "simply silhouettes" cd and have manipulated it and changed the colour e.c.t....to create my own paper and topper.....so I have got the look I fell in love with by using the tools and products I already own.

I have kept the card simple, and just added a little bling.

Penny's Paper Play - Anything Goes
Fussy and Fancy - Pink and Black

Hello All,

I have made a few more cards with those old scraps!! Still you can hardly see a dent in my scrap stash, but its a start.

Scraptastic!

Hello All,

Well, after organizing my craft room I decided to put all my little scrapling size cards (you know the bit left over from making a square card) Into a little bundle......Like so:

Then I actually went through all my scrap papers that were stashed all over the place...and threw out some of the tiny pieces that were ridiculous...I know this doesn't look particularly organized but this is what I was left with:

I sat down the other night and thought right I am just going to make little cards and try and get rid of this bundle....however I only got this far:

...errr I think I have a long way to go.....however in my defence I was just getting in the swing of it, when I got a text from my friend wanting me to make some cards for her, so I had to abandon my mission, and move it to a later date....It will probably mean that I will quite regularly be posting tiny little collections like these.......mmmmmmmmmm I wonder if I will ever get to the of my scraps, If I could it would clear my conscience no end if I did!

Anyway I thought I would enter my little scrapling collection into:

Die Cut Dreams - Gingham (each card has a touch of gingham ribbon)
Cute Card Thurs - Whateva '

From This Moment On........

Hello All...... I am being quite soppy today, the challenge at Simon Says, is to make something inspired by a song. I have chosen "From This Moment On" by Shania Twain...we had that as our wedding song......awhhh!!....... I thought it was perfect for this post I have the wedding card, and and anniversary...so from the moment of the wedding onward!

I was asked by a friend to make an 11th wedding anniversary card for her daughter...also people are beginning to ask for wedding cards, so I am still on the wedding card drive (I had planned to take a picture of all 40 when I had finished, but they are disappearing already....oh well!!!)....any hoo...I was a bit Lazy instead of thinking of 2 different designs I just made 2 cards the same and adapted them slightly.

The fab image is from "Sassy Studio Design" and I have coloured with copics, and a "Marvy - Just Glitter" pen for added sparkle. The Papers are "papermania"...various ones in thier wedding collection. and I have used "Spellbinders shapeabilities - flower creations 3" for the flowers.

This is my entry for:

Simon Says - Sing it baby (From this moment on - Shania Twain)
Crafty Creations - Wedding or Anniversary
Dare to be Sassy - Free Style
One Stop Craft - Patterns (I have used damask)

Vintage Paris

Hello All,

I have had a play with some of my new goodies...the gorgeous "Kanban" stamps and "g.c.d studio - Paris Nights" DP.......so gorgeous I just Love it, it is a paper pack that you have to look at and stoke, and can not bring yourself to take scissors to it!.....and Also I have created the flower using my new "paper artsy" dies.

The image has been coloured with my copics - the warm grey ones...I have added a little fun flocking around her hat and dress....and lashings and lashings of stickles to give her some sparkle!....All the edges have been tinted using "distress ink - antique linen".......and that's about it!

This is my entry for:

Sir Stampalot - Lots of bling
The Stampman - take 2 colours ( I have chosen black and cream)

Domestic Godess

Hello All,

Sorry I have been AWOL again....I was putting away some of my new goodies from my recent hols...and I thought I would sort out one box of stuff...then I decided just to do the whole shelf...then in the end I tidied and reorganized my entire craft room ( well its more of a spare room come office come craft room......but I refer to it as my craft room)......half way through sorting I wish I had not started, I spent a whole afternoon and 3 very long evenings doing it, and finally I finished....It feels great to be so organized..that will last all of 5 min!

I discovered things I forgot I had, and I have once again put myself on a guilt trip at just having sooooooooo much stuff! It really is shocking, 2 years ago I put myself on a spending ban, where I did not buy any craft things for 6 months (except adhesive and white card)........amazingly I stuck to it...I don't particularly want to do that again, but I think I do need to exercise a little more restraint for a while!

I have made a couple more wedding cards....but I hate them so I have not been brave enough to show them here! I think I have sickened myself of wedding cards, so this evening I just thought I would have a little play and just do what I wast and hopefully get the old creative juices going again!

This is one of my new stamps....I Love it!!! it is from Kanban, which I have coloured with copics and used it with my new papers "Bo Bunny - Petal Pushers"

This is my entry for:

Totally Papercrafts - Going to the Movies (I have chosen "Julie and Julia" - I love that film, about Julie, setting up a blog to report her progress on working through Julia Child's cookbook.....seems very appropriate as my name is Julia, I have a best friend called Julie, and My love of blogging!!!! he he)
